My husband and I celebrated 365 married days together this past month. It has been so great to spend a whole year with him and experience each month's unique characteristics as a team. Maybe later I'll talk on the blog about what I learned in our first year.
To celebrate our first year, we decided to go to one of our favorite restaurants in Asheville called Jerusalem Garden Cafe. The ambiance is warm and cozy with excellent food. Afterwards we walked to a nearby used bookstore to let our food settle before heading to Craggy Gardens on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We'd never been before, and man, it was great. My expectations were low because I knew all the leaves would be gone, but it was still a very beautiful and interesting hike. A perfect late fall/early winter hike. From what I've seen, it's amazing when everything is green, too.
I was very excited because despite the many times I've been to the mountains, it was the first time I'd seen the mist quite like this.
A sedentary creature of the woods.

I feel like this tree could just walk away

Pro tip: use a nearby hill for a camera tripod. It keeps the photos interesting when you have to run down the hill and get in position before the self-timer goes off. Also, fling your jacket so that it is perfectly in the shot.
The weird in-between goof-off pictures are my favorite.
Have you had a one year anniversary with someone? What did you do to celebrate?
